One Bag Travel – the essentials
In today’s day and age of post-pandemic airport and airline chaos, it’s probably best to do everything in our power to take the stress out of the travel experience. Not having to check multiple bags or worry in which bag you’ve put that so-called essential item sounds good, right?
Walking off a flight and not having to wait at the baggage carousel? Thinking your luggage didn’t make it? Yeah, not a great feeling, we know!
Now we know that if you’re traveling for a two-week holiday, one-bag-travel may not apply to you (unless you really like a challenge). Let’s be honest though, how many times have you gone away for a long weekend and you wear, or use, only a fraction of what you’ve packed? We get it, we’ve been there too.
Efficient One Bag Travel is the solution - here are some ways to travel more efficiently - carry on, with just a carry-on!
Bag choice Always make sure you check what the limits are that the airline you’ve chosen to fly with has put in place. This will make it easier for you to select what type of luggage you want as your carry-on. Backpack, duffel/weekend bag, or suitcase? We definitely recommend the 2 former as opposed to the latter, but if you do choose a suitcase, make sure it’s got 4 wheels - will make walking through the airport a lot easier.
Maximize the space in your luggage choice It's crucial to keep in mind that you don't have to pack for every scenario. Pack only what you'll actually need. Just because you're on vacation doesn't mean you're going to be much different from how you are at home. Think practical!
Toiletries You know those travel size toiletries that your favorite brand probably makes? Well, it’s in the name, TRAVEL size! Do you really need that full size conditioner?
Electronics These can be difficult to transport, so if you know you'll be moving around a lot, think about buying lightweight laptops and tablets. It's also a good idea to have a multiport adaptor so you can use it to charge all of your electronic devices at once. But come one now, ask yourself "Do I really need this piece of technological equipment?" when you pack. Should I bring my mobile gaming device? Or should I really be present and soak up the local culture? Take a break, you deserve it!
